Geck Huat Provision Store, trading as Lao Ban Niang, is a provision and dried goods shop at Albert Centre that has been serving the Queen Street neighbourhood since 1977. Founded by Madam Tan Guan Geck, who started as a street hawker before setting up shop, the store carries dried seafood, preserved goods and everyday grocery staples. In recent years, Lao Ban Niang has expanded into confinement porridge, offering a curated range of porridge flavours for postpartum mothers, delivered through the Combine.SG platform. The shop represents a slice of old Singapore retail that has adapted to modern demands while staying rooted in its original trade. For dried goods, provisions and confinement meals, Lao Ban Niang at Albert Centre bridges tradition and today. Visit laobanniang.com.sg or #03-55/56 at Albert Centre.Based on 8 Google reviews
