Classic Indian-Muslim coffee shop near Golden Mile serving murtabak, roti prata and teh tarik.
Zam Zam is a longstanding Indian-Muslim coffee shop and restaurant on North Bridge Road, just a short walk from Golden Mile, that has been serving some of Singapore's best-loved murtabak and roti prata for decades. Established in 1909, it holds a place among the city's most storied eateries, drawing both heritage-minded locals and curious tourists with its paper-thin prata and generously stuffed murtabak. The menu spans a wide range of Indian-Muslim classics including biryani, nasi padang items and sweet treats, all complemented by frothy teh tarik pulled from seasoned hands. Zam Zam's enduring popularity means queues are common, especially during peak hours, but the wait is part of the experience and the food rarely disappoints. The restaurant also operates a second outlet at Far East Plaza, but the original North Bridge Road shop remains the spiritual home. For a taste of Singapore's rich Indian-Muslim culinary heritage, Zam Zam is an essential stop.

Went to the stall at Albert Street Bugis. The stall owner was very rude and shoved customers away when they wanted to order. The stall owner has an attitude problem. I won't visit the stall again due to rudeness by the stall owner. The stall owner mentioned there is a long queue and rushed customers to quickly pick their order. I haven't ordered yet and the stall owner just threw the plate and said don't sell to customer.

One of the few that serves a $3 meal of yong tau foo. 2 options. Either with turmeric (+50 cents) or with the broth or diced with chilli and sweet sauce paste. Service is good. The lady in charge is very helpful and accommodating.

The soup is light yet flavorful, with a comforting home-cooked feel. For those who prefer a dry version, their sauces are rich and perfectly balanced — not too salty, not too sweet, just right. Whether you're building a light meal or a more indulgent bowl, there's something to suit every appetite.

This is my favourite breakfast place in Singapore. Perfect balance of price, portion and flavour. Whenever I visit or live in this area I come here for breakfast every morning except on Fridays as they are closed. They serve a generous portion of hot YTF from just $3.50. They can definitely charge more but they have so many regulars and are so generous to keep the prices low for older locals in the area. They have the best fried eggplant and chilli sweet sauce combination. Aunty knows exactly how much sauce to put and she even remembers my usual. I'm always too hungry to take a photo when I get the food. And I always feel sad when the bowl ends. #supportlocalbusiness

Although it's stated self-service, the friendly auntie at the stall will bring your order to you if you are seated nearby. Not much queue. The laksa Yong Tau Foo is quite nice although I wish the laksa soup could be thicker.
