Bugis Street Level 2 Is Back as a Thrift, Workshop, and Weekend Market Floor

Bugis Street Level 2 reopened on 25 and 26 July 2026 after months of empty units. The floor now runs as a mix of thrift, local brands, workshops, and a weekend market instead of the old bargain-clothing grid. Time Out, AsiaOne, and 8world all covered the launch. The layout is still there if you go this September.

Standard Photo Studio and Creamie Sippies on Bugis Street Level 2

Somewhere @ Bugis Street, by the Artbox team

The anchor is Somewhere @ Bugis Street, a concept from Invade, the team behind Artbox and Fleawhere. Bugis Street's own media release, quoted by AsiaOne on 27 July, called it a retail playground. That is marketing language. On the floor it is thrift racks, indie labels, a lounge, podcast rooms, open-deck turntables, and creator rooms.

Somewhere opens from 1pm daily. The rest of the new Level 2 stores run 11am to 10pm. Weekends are the reason to time the trip. Around 40 booths fill the market with pre-loved fashion, handmade accessories, collectibles, second-hand cameras, and vinyl. Fleawhere's own listing put Saturday and Sunday hours at 1pm to 7pm for the market block.

This is not a tourist souvenir floor. It is closer to a flea you already know from Artbox, dropped onto Victoria Street. If you hated the old Level 2 because it felt like leftover stock, this is the correction. If you came for $5 tees in bulk, you will find less of that here.

Ruby Merlot first physical store at Bugis Street Level 2

The homegrown names that actually opened

Ruby Merlot, a Singapore brand that also sells in Seoul, opened its first physical shop here. Journals, bags, customisation sessions, and weekend junk-journaling workshops. You can browse without booking, then stay for a session if a weekend slot is on.

Creamie Sippies, the matcha mill cafe that started in Bukit Merah, put a banana pudding bar on this floor. Her World listed the drinks that travel with it: Coconut Taro Latte at $9.90, Banana Bread Latte at $8.90, Mango Matcha Latte at $8.90. You build the pudding with toppings, sauces, and a mini drink. It is a dessert stop, not a sit-down meal.

White Pixies billed itself as Singapore's first dedicated candle bar. Workshops cover pouring candles, perfume balm charms, and diffusers. The brand says the wax is soy and beeswax, no paraffin. Book if you want a two-hour activity. Walk in if you only want to look.

Hawker-themed self-shoot room at Standard Photo Studio, Bugis Street

Photobooths, and what is still coming

Standard Photo Studio runs four self-shoot rooms. One is a hawker room with props for local dishes. After the strip prints, a DIY station lets you turn it into a beaded photo keychain. Time Out's launch photos were shot here. It is the part of Level 2 that will eat 20 minutes even if you did not plan it.

Bugis Street also said Myth Jinn Escape Room will open its first Singapore outpost on the complex, and that Xcape Singapore at 161 Rochor Road is expanding with new rooms. Those are not open as part of the July launch. Treat them as coming, not as a reason to go this weekend.

The revamp followed a quiet stretch. AsiaOne noted that most Level 2 leases ended on 31 March 2026 and that the floor had seen a run of closures. The new mix is aimed at the same Gen Z crowd CNA described hanging around Bugis Street, Art Lane, and Haji Lane. It will feel busy on Saturday afternoon. Weekday late morning is calmer if you want to try the pudding bar without a queue.

Bugis MRT Exit B drops you on Victoria Street. Level 2 is inside the main Bugis Street building at 261 Victoria Street, not the outdoor shophouse stretch. Pair it with Bugis+ across the link bridge if you still want air-con mall shopping after the market.
